„Die Originale“
„Die Originale“ is an interdisciplinary research program within the "Circus" programme at Berliner Festspiele. It will take place from 28 March to 8 April 2018.
"Die Originale" stands in the spirit of openness and visibility and invites you from 28 March to 5 April 2018 to a seven-day research project, followed by a presentation. Ten research leaders from various fields - including contemporary circus, film, theatre and music - are working together with an interdisciplinary group of artists on the topic of the circle. The focus is on the input of the research leaders as well as on the open exchange between the participants, the examination of their own artistic practice and the reference to contemporary circus, a genre which is defined by its presentness, its willingness to take risks, and by its cross-genre artistic interaction.
On 7 and 8 of April 2018, the research results will be shared at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele on stage in a circular setting. A programme of contemporary circus productions, lectures and audience discussions will frame the workshop presentations.
Professional artists from different fields of the arts can apply to participate in the research labs.
You have the opportunity to work with international researchers, choreographers and directors for seven days. The research leaders are:
Suzan Boogaerdt & Bianca Van der Schoot (NL)

Olle Strandberg (SWE)
