Companies:
A ladder, a pair of red shoes, an accordion, and two women. Through music, words, and movement, they tell the story of a poor but free girl who one day ends up in a wealthy household. She grows up leaving behind the hardship she once knew, but soon realizes that comfort and safety come at the cost of strict control over who she must be and what she must do. Her joy fades, until one day… she runs away to reclaim her rooted, joyful, and happy life.
