This Anyday may be the last day.The last day in this place. A place where, we come to realise, Max may have been for quite some time. Today, Max draws us deep into the intimate interior world of the character and his “bird.”

It is a tender, heart-breaking world. A world filled with darkness, foreboding shadows, strange sounds, echoes of the past, and perhaps a premonition of the future. Comic, absurd, surreal — Anyday excavates deep reefs of emotion. Yet this archaeology of loneliness is illuminated by light and, ultimately, joy.

It is a miniature portrait of a life in a single day. Exuberant and exhilarating, the detailed story carries us into the emotional and psychological landscape of our character. But, in a final coup de théâtre, the interior narrative transcends the body and the soul, taking flight into the world, meeting the audience in a profound and memorable connection.

Set to an original score by Matt Huxley, Anyday is a tumultuous odyssey that transmutes the clangs and boings of overwhelming hope into a soaring of the spirit.

In 2024, SHAM Spectacles co-produces the revival of the show for its dissemination during the coming seasons.
