Tenet
Companies:
Tenet invites us to shift our gaze in order to question the reality we see and to
explore how the world changes when we look at it from another angle.
Eight acrobats and one musician unfold a fresh and vibrant performance that
combines the acrobatic language with a striking visual dramaturgy.
This large-scale, all-ages show highlights the richness that comes from the diversity
of perceptions and points of view.
Because once the perspective is inverted... Nothing is ever quite the same again.
This is a large-scale show driven by Eunoia Kolektiva. With eight acrobats on stage
and a musician at the technical controls, the show questions how we perceive the
reality around us, exploring what happens when we invert our way of looking.
The performers put themselves at stake and experiment with different perspectives of
the same situation through their own bodies: they observe from different heights, spin
on their axes, and shift directions. They discover that the acrobatics connecting them
open up a universe of three-dimensional possibilities, where each person has a
completely different point of reference. What does each one see at the same moment?
How does that reality transform when the position changes?
The collective also explores how personal experiences shape what we perceive, while
at the same time attempting to influence the audience’s gaze. Is there a relationship
between subjectivity and perception? Who supports whom? Who is watching, and who
is being watched?
The original music of the show accompanies the acrobats’ play, adding a sonic
dimension that at times complements the action and at others leads the audience to
completely unexpected places.
With a striking physical aesthetic and evocative visual dramaturgy, the show invites
audiences to develop a deeper gaze beyond the virtuosity of acrobatic lifts, offering a
dramaturgical reflection on bodily awareness in relation to space and others.
